Many road maps (including both the one above and the widely available Copec road map) indicate there is a road between Ollague and the Collahuasi mine. True, there is an old road with no signs of use that is in a very bad condition - in some places you'd need a Hummer in order to pass. Also, it is easy to get lost (many old roads, no signs). However, if you are a smuggler it might still interest you - it bypasses the customs posts between Chile's Regions I and II.

Trip length - 12020km.

The largest number of accidents I had on a trip so far. Rear-ended by a bus, 4 flats and one tire torn apart; multiple minor problems.
